Cat allergens travel. Even into pet-free homes.

Cats are one of the most common indoor allergy trigger after dust mites – but it’s not their fur that’s to blame.

The real culprit is Fel d 1, a protein found in cat saliva and skin glands. When cats groom themselves, they transfer this allergen to their hair and dander (tiny skin flakes), which then floats through the air and settles on… everything.

Everything includes your clothes, furniture, soft toys – this can be the case even if you don’t own a cat.

In fact, Fel d 1 has been detected:
  • On clothing of cat-free coworkers
  • In homes with no pets
  • Even in Antarctica, where no cats have ever set paw.
Hairless breeds? Still produce it. Hypoallergenic breeds? According to a review published in 2024, “to date, there is no scientific evidence for a hypoallergenic cat breed”.

So, what can you actually do if Fel d 1 is everywhere?
That’s where Allergoff’s Allergen Neutralising Spray makes all the difference. It binds to and neutralises allergens – including cat allergens – for up to 6 months with a single spray.
